The purpose of this course is to prepare students for a future where they can properly harness advanced Web design skills. The course covers advanced Hypertext Markup Language (HTML5), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS3), design and the Creative Process, Dreamweaver and Photoshop as it pertains to Web Design. The course also introduces students to Adobe Behance. Behance will provide them with the tools to create an E-portfolio, which will be used to showcase their photography and design work when applying to colleges or jobs. Students will complete peer group activities and independent projects which both have a large focus for designing and developing sites for multiple screen sizes. In addition, they will improve upon life skills by creating an Educational Website with an educator acting as their client. Many professions value an employee who is proficient and advanced in HTML, CSS, Adobe Dreamweaver and Photoshop. This class will provide them with the skills necessary to use these technologies in such a way that they would be confident in adding them to their resume. Prerequisite: B+ or higher average in Introduction to Web Design.
